2012 European Tour Kicks Off

After spending the holiday in Aspen, CO at Jazz Aspen Snowmass, Carmen and the band kick off the New Year with a month-long European tour.

First, the start of 2012 brings Carmen to NY for the filming of a new PBS Documentary about the life of legendary pianist and composer Mary Lou Williams.  Featuring interviews and performances by Mary Lou with extensive classic footage, the documentary also includes interviews and performances by some of the current specialists of Mary Lou William's music, Carmen Lundy and Geri Allen in particular.  Produced by Carol Bash, it's slated to broadcast in 2013.

January will be a busy touring time in Europe.  January 16-17 will see Carmen return to Ronnie Scott's in London, then on to Athens for 5 nights, Istanbul for 2 nights and ending in Paris on January 27 and 28.

Mid February finds Carmen stateside again, starting at Duke University February 14-16, 2012. Keep checking our Calendar for upcoming dates and venues.
