A CONVERSATION WITH MARY LOU WILLIAMS and Other Upcoming Concert Dates

Now that 2014 is in full swing, we have some exciting concert dates to share with you.  On March 13-15, I'll be at The Harlem Stage in NYC where a new Symposium and Concert celebrating the life of Mary Lou Williams will be presented. Created by Geri Allen and directed by S. Epatha Merkerson, "Conversations with Mary Lou" will be performed over 3 nights and will include a Cyber-Symposium to be held at Columbia University on March 12th.  The extraordinary script is by Farah Jasmine Griffin.

Prior to that, on February 22nd, join us at the Lakeland Jazz Festival in Cleveland, Ohio. Patrice Rushen, Kenny Davis and Ralph Peterson will be with me on the bandstand. Then, we travel to Cape Town, South Africa for the prestigious Cape Town International Jazz Festival with a concert on March 28th. Carmen Lundy will make her 2nd concert appearance in South Africa within a year, one of the first Jazz artists to do so.
