Live at The Ford, Jazz and The New Songbook Artists
Dear Ms. Lundy,
I have been a jazz fan all of my life and cannot believe I have just found you and your music.
It was a lazy Sunday afternoon and I was flipping through the TV channels, and there you were [LA36]. You were at The Ford Theatre. I have heard some jazz, but I have never heard a voice such as yours or your mastery of the musicians you guided.
What an incredible experience for me to witness. I was glued to the set for a blissful two hours. They ran the credits so fast that I had to call the TV station to find out who you were. I just missed the beginning of the show and was going crazy wondering who was this elegant, beautiful woman.
I will never forget that moment. Anyway, I found your website, which is why I am taking the time to write a “fan” letter, which I have never, ever done before. That is how much you impressed me. My God-sister, who is strictly a country music person, even popped her head into my room and wanted to know who I was listening to. Consequently, I went out later that night to hear some live jazz at Charlie O’s in Van Nuys. Every Wednesday, I will go to a different club – that is how much you have influenced one person to renew their love of jazz.
One day, in the near future, I will have the privilege of seeing you perform live. I will purchase your CDs and DVDs and am going to make my friends watch, much to their delight I might add!
Thank you very much Ms. Lundy. You truly are an inspiration.
